Invasion from the south

November 9, 2007

The Mexican military 60 miles inside our border?  I’ve heard stories like this before, but Glenn Beck did a story on the border last night that made my blood boil.  The Mexican military mentioned above was providing cover for illicit activity, and actually held the border patrol at bay while those they protected crossed back over to Mexico.

He also had a congressman from Texas, who demonstrated the government the government position on the issue.  He basically said the American people should mind their own business and let him and the other experts worry about the border.

Us dumb citizens really have no idea about the complexities of this or any other issue.  We can continue to let those experts in government deal with these and other important issues of the day, but we do so at our own peril.  They have sold us out.  They no longer look at the world through the eyes of American citizens and generations to come.

It is time to take our country back.  Register to vote.  Run for office.  Don’t leave the government to those willing to trade our nations future for money and power.

What I would do If I were president Old posts 6

October 14, 2007

Over the next couple of days I will be posting items I posted in the past in another blog, and on u4prez.com.

What I would do as president. 5/07

1. I would secure the border immediately upon being sworn in.

2. I would re-assess the Post cold war world, and restructure our foreign policy to preserve America’s interests, promote growth for our friends, and deter our enemies.

3. I would work to slash the size of the Federal government, and end the destructive partisanship that is poisoning our country.

Border security is a perfect example of what is wrong with our government. For 20 years one President after another has progressively less enforced our national border. Just as election after election our representatives have progressively less represented the people.

Nearly six years after 9/11 our borders are not secure. This President told us his duty was to protect this country and it’s citizens. We rightly wage war half way around the world for national security, yet anyone who wanted to damage our country need only travel to Mexico or Canada and walk in.

It’s not about race. It is about economics, culture, and assimilation. It affects us every day personally in education, health care, law, wages, taxes, and social programs.

I often hear it’s not possible, or we can’t do it………..this is like a dagger in the back. This is the United States of America. We put a man on the moon. With modern technology, and the resources of the U.S. Government I would secure the southern border immediately, and see to the further security of this country.

We have been flying by the seat of our pants with our foreign policy since the fall of the Soviet Union. The philosophy of containment that drove our foreign policy for 50 years is no longer applies. We have reacted to events and continue to do so at our own peril. Terrorists are at war with us and plot our destruction. The Chinese want us out of their way so they can control a much bigger chunk of the world. The Russians want what they think is theirs and are not above using whatever leverage they have to get theirs. The French realize this is a multipolar world, and have staked out their very own “anti-American” sphere of influence. Who are our enemies? Who are our friends? Do we know? We better start looking out for ourselves, because the next tier of world powers all want us down at their level, and are working towards that end. Who’s side is our government on?

Does our policy towards Mexico encourage illegal immigration and drug trafficking? Yes. By supporting the Mexican government without insisting on reform we enable corruption and a failing economy. Mexicans are forced to flee for a chance at a better life.

Does our policy towards Russia encourage them to bully and blackmail? Yes. We let Putin off the hook. It seems in exchange for their silence on the war on terror, we quit holding their feet to the fire. Russia is using intimidation, energy, and anything else they can manipulate to improve their position.

Does our policy towards China help them undermine us? Yes. China publically sits quietly on the sidelines while the Russians, Iranians, and Terrorists test us. Meanwhile covertly and not so covertly China steals plans to our advanced weapons, buys Russian weapons, builds a modern Navy, and uses comercial interests to take over the Panama Canal and most of our large ports.

Does our Policy towards Iran encourage them to continue to poke their finger in our eye? Yes. We had hoped taking out Saddam would give pause to other Pariahs. The problem is they see we are soft. We don’t want to fight. They are fairly confident we will do nothing. After all we worked for a decade and got more than a dozen UN resolutions before going in to Iraq. Even when we went, friend and foe alike didn’t want us to do it. Now, with the bad taste of Iraq in our mouth, Iran is betting we don’t have the stomach to tangle with them.

Is our policy in Iraq weaken us? Yes. THIS THING SHOULD BE OVER. No one wants war, but if you make the grave decision to go to war then you better have the stomach for it. At least 3 years ago at Fallujah this thing should have been over. One must remove the enemy’s will to fight. We should have laid seige to that city. Dropped leaflets allowing safe passage to non-combatants, and leveled that city. Then sent a message to the rest of the country. If you want to fight this is what is coming to a city near you.

Al Sadar should have been taken prisoner or killed when his men butchered our soldiers and hung them from that bridge.

We are way to polite, and if this is how we are going to fight, we have no business in a war.
